Stomp Miami Theatre reviews
Kenny Yes, Crowd No
One thing that disappointed me about the venue was the Fast Pass. It only works if you plan on entering the venue right when the gates open. If you are not there 15mins before general admission opens then, you wasted your money and you might as well go through general admissions.
Before Stomp even went on stage I saw 3 people having to be taken out because they were too drunk and rowdy. Some where literly carried because they could not stand. By the end of the concert I had counted 7, one person who passed out on the lawn, and heard of multiple arrest from our shuttle driver.
After the show while waiting on the shuttle for my wife. I helped a young lady deter a extremely drunk person who would come up to her, hit on her, leave, then come back and repeat.
It was posted inside the venue that Stomp was to perform from 8:50-10:50. He went off stage with no encore at 10:20. Half way through his last song Stomp turned to his band and made a gesture to stretch out the song. I assume he got word about the crowd and ended early.
If you do any research on Stomp's concert you will learn 2 things. He is a great performer who loves what he does. He is entergetic, interactive with the crowd, and plays a good mix of new and older songs. Was surprised to hear a couple of songs from the 90's. The other thing you learn is his fans/crowds are not as great as he is.
Surprised my pregnant wife with lawn tickets as an outing before the baby comes. Venue and staff was fantastic and had a shuttle for her. Very similar to their sister venue in VA Beach.
This is by far the worst crowd I've seen. Never had this problem at the VA Beach venue for any show there (Toby Keith, Darrius Rucker, Billy Joel). Glad to say I saw him but doubt I'd go to another show.
